Interfaith Gathering at the Islamic Center of America

By: Duifaf Waely

Thursday April 21, 2011

On Thursday April 21, 2011, the IHRN participated in the interfaith gathering located at the Islamic Center of America, the biggest Islamic mosque in North America, to condemn the actions of Pastor Terry Jones who had planned to come to the city of Dearborn to protest against radical Islam in front of the colossal mosque. The gathering was massive and brought out many Christians, Jews and Muslims together as united Americans living in the United States of America. Various well-known organizations attended the gathering such as the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and other civil and human rights organizations such as the Iraqi Human Rights Network (IHRN) as well as diverse religious and spiritual leaders in the community such as Imams, pastors, and rabbis. With love and support from everyone, the message became clear, go home Pastor Jones.
